Alternative Programs at Wilson Tech

Center for Alternative Education

 

Alternative High School - Diploma PrepAration

Find out how you can turn yourself around and complete high school.

 

Tech’s alternative program will help you complete your high school education and earn a high school diploma. The diploma would be from your home high school. This program is for students between the ages of 16-21 who are "at risk" for not completing high school. Tech programs are offered in the AM session and academics in the PM session.

Earn Your GED

If you are 16-21 years old and you have either dropped out or have insufficient number of credits to graduate, this program will help prepare you to take the exam for the General Education Diploma (GED). The program is also offered in Spanish.

Ninth Grade Turn Around

This one-year program is for ninth graders at risk of academic failure. This program will help prepare you to return to a regular classroom schedule in your high school.

Teen Parents

Tech helps teen parents prepare for success!

This program is for pregnant and/parenting students. Students participate in academic coursework so they can complete high school and pursue one of Tech’s 30 career and technical programs. They can learn a skill for the workplace or go on to post secondary education. Child care for their children is available in the Little Tots Child Care Center. Parenting classes help students learn how to care for infants and very young children.

Online High School

With a connection to the internet, students can now complete or supplement their high school education at their own pace. Students can log on whenever and wherever they choose to study. Our virtual school is a great place for many different types of students to learn. To accommodate all learners, our Online High School offers remedial, standard and accelerated courses.
